Couples Portraits
I took these photos in a pet shop near my grandmothers house, they let their kittens and cats roam free throughout the store and the pictures of my sister show her trying to cuddle one of the kittens and the kitten want nothing to do with her. Every shot the kitten is squirming, looking at something else, or pushing away her face. Its funny the two completely contrasting emotions you can see in the photo even though one of the subjects is an animal. Madelyn is trying to get the kitten to accept her even using a feather to distract him so he will stay in her arms and the kitten just wants to escape her grip and be put down. One of the reasons I made the photos black and white is to show visual as well as emotional contrast. As innocent as Maddy looks in these images, when I asked her to talk about them for my projects her response was something like "HAHA NO, BYE!" so I don't have a response from her but if I did it really wouldn't be that deep.
